Atlus will release a remake of Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard for Nintendo 3DS called Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Knight of the Fafnir, Famitsu reports.
Etrian Odyssey 2 is the second game in the series to get a makeover treatment; last year, Atlus released a new version of the first game dubbed Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl. Like the latest remake, The Knight of the Fafnir will introduce animated story scenes and new characters. Check out the Japanese trailer above for a look at the game.
The original Etrian Odyssey 2 launched for Nintendo DS in 2008. Players assumed the role of a band of adventurers as they navigated through a series of deep, enemy-filled dungeons.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Knight of the Fafnir is expected to launch in Japan this winter. A North American release date has not been announced. For more on The Millennium Girl, check out our review.
