A survey commissioned by Variety shows that the top five "most influential figures among Americans ages 13-18" are personalities from YouTube.
Coming in at number three, edging out Jennifer Lawrence, Katy Perry and Betty White, was a young Swedish man named PewDiePie. Other top names from YouTube include Smosh, The Fine Bros. and KSI.
Famous for his let's play videos PewDiePie, whose given name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, currently has the most subscribers on YouTube. His 27 million fans bring him more than $4 million a year.
The highest ranking non-YouTube celebrity in the survey is named Paul Walker, who passed away in a car accident in November of last year.
