Cards printed up by the Pacific Northwest mega-mart Fred Meyer and handed out for preorders of Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U say the game is launching on Friday, Nov. 21, according to a Twitter user who got his money down on Friday.
Super Smash Bros. launched on the 3DS in Japan on Friday and comes to the west Oct. 3, though its demo is being offered on the eStore this coming Friday. No launch date for the Wii U edition has been formally announced in any region; the U.S. homepage for the game's official site says "Holiday 2014."
For those wondering, "Black Friday" in the United States is the following week, Nov. 28.
Online retailer listings can often be dismissed as an error, but a chain taking customers' preorders that's printing up and passing around cards is a little more solid. A Friday launch also fits with Nintendo's history of putting out highly anticipated games on that day.
Still, this isn't any official confirmation. We've made the customary call to Nintendo and will update with anything they say.
