Super Smash Bros 3DS final smashes, compared to Brawl

Warning: this post contains potential spoilers for Super Smash Bros. 3DS secret characters.

Youtube user Master0fHyrule has just posted a video that details veteran characters' new "final smash" moves from the upcoming 3DS title, comparing them to their Super Smash Bros. Brawl counterparts.

Final smashes are bombastic special moves, available when a player destroys a special item, a smash ball. Each is character-specific, and deals massive damage.

Of the bunch, Kirby probably has the most dramatic change. His Brawl move was "cook Kirby," a deeply disturbing action (if you think about it), wherein Kirby put all of his opponents in a pot and boiled them. In the new game, he hits the opposition with an Ultra Sword. Zero Suit Samus' move is arguably the most exciting — she now gets into a gunship and mows down opponents with futuristic cannon fire.

But it's Luigi's new final smash that shows the most potential improvement. In Brawl, he had a bizarre "negative zone" effect, but here, Luigi straps on a super powered Poltergust machine, sucks his enemies in, and shoots them out, as if from a rocket.

After the year of Luigi, and his antics ridin' dirty in Mario Kart 8, Luigi is simply not messing around anymore.

Super Smash Bros. 3DS is due out on Oct. 3.
