Eight cars will be available for free at launch for Forza Horizon 2, kicking off the open-world racer's plan for premium downloadable content and a subscription to receive it.
Forza Horizon 2, which launches Sept. 30, will offer a Car Pass for $24.99, giving subscribers the option to buy, up front, the six car packs to be offered in the future. The $24.99 price represents a $5 discount over what someone would pay if all six packs were bought individually.
Forza Horizon 2 also will offer a "VIP Pass" that delivers five additional cars, doubles the in-game rewards players receive in their events, and offers access to exclusive multiplayer events. The VIP Pass costs $19.99.
Both subscriptions are discounted $10 for those who are currently VIP members of Forza Motorsport 5.
The Launch Bonus Pack of free cars, made available for everyone on day one, includes the following rides:
- 2003 Ford Focus RS
- 1997 Land Rover Defender 90
- 1993 Clio Williams
- 2015 Ford Mustang GT
- 1987 Buick Regal GNX
- 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV
- 1968 Abarth 595 esseesse
- 1956 Ford F-100
Additionally, the game's demo is available — for Xbox One only — on Xbox Live right now. A version of the game also will launch for Xbox 360 on Sept. 30.
