How Hyrule Warriors mixes hacking, slashing and harp-jamming

Not since Wand of Gamelon have we seen a Zelda title that's this much of a departure from the franchise.

Not that Hyrule Warriors' strangeness was unexpected — Nintendo has been fairly up-front about the fact that this is a Warriors title first and foremost. There are Keeps, and waves of enemies, and KOs measured by the thousands. There just also happens to be so, so many Bokoblins. Like, infinity Bokoblins. And watching Sheik kill 90 Bokoblins by crushing them with an energy field made out of magic harps — that is the kind of thing we are simply not used to seeing.

For this and more Hylian oddities, check out our Overview of Hyrule Warriors above.
