Payday 2's upcoming add-on pack is an homage to Battlefield

Battlefield seems to be going a little Payday with it's next installment, Hardline, so it's only fair that Payday 2 would go a little Battlefield in its latest bit of DLC.

The Gage Assault Pack is a collection of four weapons, 28 mods, four melee weapons, four masks, four materials, four patterns and 10 achievements, all for $4.99.

The pack, due out Thursday, is detailed on a website that cranks some very familiar sounding music and is loaded with a lot of Battlefield aesthetic — think orange and blues.

On the official Steam page for the game, developers at Overkill Software acknowledge the Battlefield theme:

"Yes, this is us at Overkill tipping our hats to a fellow Swedish game developer. :)"

According to fictional arms-dealer, Gage, the pack is for when go south and you want to "fill the air with high velocity rifle rounds, and plenty of them."
