Who wanted a bigger iPhone? Everyone, it turns out

We've discussed why new Apple devices are a big deal for the gaming world, and it turns out the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was much more successful than anticipated. Apple, in the first weekend, has sold 10 million of the devices. This is a new record for the company.

That number could have been larger, but it turns out they just can't make the things fast enough.

"Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier," says Apple CEO Tim Cook. "While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible."

This beats the first weekend sales figures of the iPhone 5s and 5c from last year, despite the new phones having yet to launch in China.

While the new phone is more powerful than previous versions, the larger size may make playing some of the more popular mobile games a bit harder.
