Defense Grid 2 is a fairly traditional tower defense title, but that doesn't mean it's unimaginative. It's got loads of customization options — both for your towers and the rules of the game itself — and some clever mechanics for controlling the path of incoming enemies. It's not enough to build mazes of guns and hope for the best. You've got to make sure your guns can shoot over each other by supplying them with booster seats, like you might find at a Ponderosa or Golden Corral. Only, you know, for cannons.
