Nintendo will run maintenance on Miiverse for the next few days, but the company doesn't expect the work to completely take the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS social network offline.
The extended maintenance window will begin at 3 p.m. PT today, Sept. 26, and run all the way until 1 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Sept. 30 — that's a whopping 82 hours, nearly three and a half days.
The maintenance announcement from Nintendo suggests that Miiverse won't be down entirely during this period — "you may encounter some issues while trying to connect to Miiverse," the post reads. Nintendo advises players who receive error messages while attempting to access Miiverse to "wait a while before trying to use the service again."
Wii U and 3DS owners can keep track of the Nintendo Network on Nintendo's status page. The Miiverse maintenance window is scheduled to end a few days before the Oct. 3 release of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, which is sure to be one of the biggest games of the year on the platform; for more, read our full review.
