'Saturday Night Live' skit shows Marvel movies can do no wrong

Guardians of the Galaxy may have been the biggest popcorn-flick blockbuster for the summer, but anyone who remembers reading the series in its original run still shook their head at the fact that bunch got a movie unto themselves. (Not U.S. 1?) So did Saturday Night Live's writers, in the show's 40th season premiere.

If a superhero team featuring an anthropomorphic raccoon and tree could make Disney a hojillion buxx, plainly the Marvel Universe can do no wrong. Naturally, they crap all over Ant-Man — the lone Silver Age run I have in my collection (because the back issues were so cheap. Because no one gives a crap about a guy who talks to ants). But get ready for the unlikeliest saviors you've ever seen. Like Pam.

Marvel's Pam has not been given a release date; its director and writer are also unknown. But a $3 billion gross seems reasonable given the brand.
