LEGO Doom trades pixels for bricks

YouTube user Ochre Jelly has just posted a short video showing off an impressive LEGO sculpture honoring Doom, complete with space marines, cacodemons, and even a gorgeously rendered model of the game's logo.

The best part of the sculpture is the attention to detail. Enemies "shoot" fireballs — suspended on clear bricks so they appear to fling through the air. Baddies are accurate to the last detail — their red eyes, fangs, and claws. There are "death animations." Even multiplayer is represented. There's very clearly a lot of love for the classic FPS in the work.

The scene will be on display at BrickCon in Seattle next month, and at Emerald City ComicCon in March 2015.
