Part one of Sniper Elite 3's three-part mission to save Winston Churchill from assassination will be available for all console editions of the game next week.
Correction (9/4): This information came in a press release from 505 Games, not developing studio Rebellion, and the story has been corrected. A previous version of this story said the console editions of this DLC are out now. It is currently available only for PlayStation 3. Save Churchill — Part 1 and the Patriot Weapons Pack will arrive on Sept. 9 for PlayStation 4 (in North America), Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and on Sept. 10 for PS4 in Europe.
The remainder of the original post follows.
Save Churchill: Part 1 — In Shadows launched for the PC edition of Sniper Elite 3 — which Rebellion self-publishes — back in July. In it, players return to Siwa Oasis, the game's fifth mission, with a different take on events there. A plot against the British prime minister's life, in advance of 1943's Casablanca Conference, has been discovered, and it's up to jut-jawed, eagle-eyed hero Karl Fairburne to put a stop to it.
A $29.99 season pass option delivers all the Sniper Elite 3 DLC, including the Churchill campaign and Hunt the Grey Wolf — in which the player is assigned to assassinate Hitler — as well as four more weapons packs. The latest, the Patriot Weapons Pack, is out now; it delivers the Springfield Rifle, M3 Grease Gun, and M1911 pistol.
Individually, these missions cost $7.99 and the weapons packs are $3.99.
Sniper Elite 3 launched for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One back in June. The game has attracted a strong cult following, even if the stealth and level of patience it demands leaves many others scratching their heads.
