Some of the first concept art for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End comes courtesy of developer Naughty Dog and Dark Horse's upcoming book, The Art of Naughty Dog, due to hit book stores mid-October. Those new images — unfortunately, low quality photos of the book — appear to show series protagonist Nathan Drake exploring all manner of ruined architecture, including what looks like a sunken city.
A character that appears to be Drake is shown riding an inflatable boat into a flooded city. It looks like some of the city might be explorable from underwater, considering the detail of undersea foliage and schools of fish swimming through buildings and wrecked ships.
Here's a peek at some of that concept art.
The Art of Naughty Dog is currently only available via Gallery Nucleus, which is holding the Tribute to Naughty Dog: 30th Anniversary exhibition at its Alhambra, Calif. gallery. Prints from that exhibition are currently available online.
Naughty Dog announced Uncharted 4 for PlayStation 4 last year on the eve of the console's North American launch. The action-adventure game will star an older Nathan Drake as a "retired fortune hunter" who's drawn back into the world of thieves.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is slated for release on PS4 sometime in 2015.
