Microsoft is giving away a free game of your choice to anyone who buys a new Xbox One next week at participating retailers, the company announced today.
The deal runs from Sept. 7 through Sept. 13 and includes any new Xbox One game and any new Xbox One console, including bundles, according to the post on Xbox Wire. The free game does have to be a new, disc-based game for Xbox One with a maximum retail value of $59.99, and the offer isn't valid for pre-orders.
Microsoft officials tell Polygon that participating retailers include Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Toys R Us, Amazon and Walmart.
This new deal was announced in North America the same day that Microsoft's new console went on sale for the first time in Japan. It also follows a slew of big announcements for the console made during Gamescom last month, including three new bundles and the addition of pre-loading to the console. The company also announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be an Xbox One exclusive for a limited time.
A Kinect-less version of the Xbox One went on sale on June 9 for $399.
While Microsoft hasn't announced hard sales numbers for their console since April, when they said they hit 5 million units sold worldwide, they did say in that console sales doubled in June following the launch of the Kinect-less system. Sony announced in a prepared statement last month that July was the seventh consecutive month in which the PS4 was the number-one new console in terms of U.S. sales.
