The heroes in a half-shell have a spotty track record in interactive entertainment, but they're getting another shot to make good with gamers in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze, due out on Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS this fall.
This latest entry actually sounds fairly promising. It's a 2D side-scroller being developed by WayForward with a Metroidvania-style structure, a formula the developer had a lot of success with in 2011's Aliens Infestation. As players battle through New York, they'll be able to switch between the turtles at will as they collect new items that let them progress in their quest to [spoiler warning] defeat Shredder.
This latest TMNT game takes place between the second and third seasons of the animated series of the same name. (If you don't follow the show, that was the period where Pacey and Joey were still together, but Dawson wasn't like totally over her.)
