As Major League Baseball's season draws to a close this month, expect to see a lot more of this: Rookie hazing, in which first-year players are often forced in front of the media or out into public wearing ridiculous costumes. In this case, it's Eric Joskich of the Chicago Cubs, dressed as Luigi.
Joskich went on camera as Mario's bro after a relief appearance in which he pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out four Pirates. His Cubs team still lost to Pittsburgh because starter Travis Wood gave up seven runs before being removed midway through the second inning. After an outing that ugly, perhaps Wood should have been forced to cosplay Bowser.
