Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will have the distinction of being the first Lego video game to feature a season pass, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today. The six-part season pass will offer downloadable content based on The Dark Knight, Man of Steel and the 75th anniversary of Batman's first appearance in Detective Comics.
Three downloadable add-ons for Lego Batman 3 will be available at the game's launch on Nov. 11. They include The Dark Knight pack, which lets players take control of Batman, Commissioner Gordon, Joker, Bane and Catwoman; Man of Steel, in which players assume the role of Superman's father Jor-El in a battle against General Zod; and the 75th anniversary pack, which stars Joker, Harley Quinn and the Dark Knight in a celebration of all things Batman.
Three more add-ons, which WBIE didn't date or detail, will arrive later as part of the Lego Batman 3 season pass.
Ultimately, WBIE promises more than 40 characters, new vehicles and new achievements will be unlocked as part of the season pass. The pass costs $14.99, with individual packs priced at $2.99 each.
Lego Batman 3 is coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and the season pass will be available for each platform, with the exception of Wii U.
