Action-adventure third-person game Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is now playable in first-person mode for PC users, thanks to modder Pao on NexusMods.
It's currently available to download for free on the site, along with instructions. The mod has a few known bugs, which include things vanishing when you get near them, Snake's body becoming semi-invisible while crawling and problems with pistol animations.
YouTube user BenBlatcher recorded a video of the mod, which you can watch above. The video's description refers to the mod as "brilliant," but with a few little quirks.
"Not being able to see what's round corners makes things much more tense, and you've gotta be really careful and try and get a good view on things beforehand," the description reads. "You've got to rely on your senses a lot more.
"One last thing, as noted, is that you can't see character models if you're right next to them; as with the third-person camera, things disappear when you get too close. Of course it makes picking up items a little awkward, but altogether it's nowhere near enough to turn me off of the mod. Oh and certain weapons look funny."
