Evolve releases specs as PC gamers get ready for another beta

Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

The Windows PC specifications for Evolve, which launches on Feb. 10, have been released by 2K Games. It'll need at least 4 GB of RAM and a gig of video RAM to run.

That's a fairly decent system but not exactly an uncommon setup. The recommended specs beef up the RAM to 6 gigs and 2 gigs of graphical RAM. The full list is below.

Evolve will offer sliders for nine different detail settings to help players wring the most out of their system's performance. One of those settings will be for resolution. 2K Games notes that Evolve will support 4K resolution "right now."

However, Scalable Link Interface will not be supported "out of the box," though the development teams are working on getting SLI support into Evolve "as soon as possible."

The Evolve open beta will fire up this week, with PC gamers getting in on Friday. The beta will run for all platforms from Thursday until Jan. 19, though their access dates will be different within that span.
