Rock Band music store getting fresh tunes for the first time in 2 years

It's time to get your plastic guitars out of storage, or drop a dime at Goodwill on some new-to-you instruments, because Harmonix has three new tracks available soon for Rock Band 3 and Rock Band Blitz.

The three new tracks include Arctic Monkeys' song "R U Mine" from their 2013 album AM, Avenged Sevenfold's "Shepherd of Fire" off of Hail to the King and Foo Fighters' "Something From Nothing" which was featured on their 2014 album Sonic Highways.

Content will be available on Xbox 360 Jan. 13, and PlayStation 3 Jan. 14. The tracks will be sold individually on the Rock Band Music Store for $1.99, £0.99 in the U.K. and €1.49 elsewhere in Europe.

Over a year ago Harmonix ended its weekly release schedule of content for Rock Band titles, culminating in April 2013 "American Pie." At that time Harmonix said the Don McLean classic would be the last regularly scheduled set of DLC offered for the games. They left the door open, however, to add other titles later. It's unknown if more titles are on the way in the future.
