New Nintendo Direct coming Jan. 14

Nintendo will broadcast a new Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday, Jan. 14, the company announced today. This week's Nintendo Direct will feature Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and focus on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles expected in spring 2015.

The list of titles that could be featured in the Nintendo Direct broadcast, based on preliminary release date info, includes Mario Maker, Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for Wii U, and Code Name: STEAM and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D for Nintendo 3DS.

It's also possible that Nintendo will provide details on the North American release of the New Nintendo 3DS, the latest iteration of the 3DS portable that launched in Japan and Australia last year.

Nintendo plans to broadcast the latest Nintendo Direct on its official website and on Twitch at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET.
