These Archie vs. Predator covers are just the right amount of insane

Archie Andrews has had a helluva couple years. Last year he died taking a bullet for a gay Navy SEAL. No really. Now he's being hunted by the Predator.

No really.

Today marks the release of the covers, io9 reports, and boy howdy are they amazing.

Francisco Francavilla, who did the art for Afterlife with Archie, turned in this masterpiece, showing Archie chest-deep in a muddy stream with an improvised spear, looking every bit the match for the invisible alien.

The variant cover finds Eric Powell to blame. After years toiling away at the comic series The Goon he's provided us with this image of the Predator holding aloft the severed head of Jughead.

We can only assume he died a hero's death.
