New Fire Emblem coming to Nintendo 3DS

A new entry in the Fire Emblem series is coming to Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced today during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

Few details were given about the game, which is said to feature a new storyline and "asks players to make decisions that will affect the game's world in new ways." It is being developed by Intelligent Systems and will feature character design by Kozaki Yusuke and a story by Shin Kibayashi. Like previous games in the series, it appears to feature tactical turn-based gameplay.

The last entry in the series, Fire Emblem Awakening, launched for Nintendo 3DS in 2012 in Japan and 2013 in North America. For more on the game, check out our review.
