More Marth amiibo coming to US 'later this year,' Nintendo says

Those who missed out on picking up a Marth amiibo last year are in luck: Nintendo is bringing more of the Fire Emblem figures to the U.S. "later this year," said Nintendo's Bill Trinen during today's Nintendo Direct presentation.

The Marth amiibo will be compatible with Code Name: STEAM, the upcoming turn-based strategy game from Fire Emblem developer Intelligent Systems. Trinen showed off the functionality during the Nintendo Direct. True to the spirit of the Fire Emblem titles, players won't be able to revive amiibo characters who die in the game. Nintendo is launching amiibo figures for Robin, Lucina and others, alongside the already-available Marth and Ike toys.

Code Name: STEAM will be released March 13.
