Where to watch Game of Thrones in IMAX, one week later than expected

IMAX screenings of Game of Thrones are launching one week later than expected in order to bump the number of participating theaters from 150 to more than 200, according to a post on the IMAX Blog.

Screenings will now run from Jan. 29 - Feb. 5, as opposed to previously announced dates of Jan. 23 - 29. Theaters span the entire U.S. and include major cities such as Austin, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York; additional locations are still being confirmed. Check out the IMAX Blog for the list of theaters.

Game of Thrones is the first TV series to ever grace the IMAX screen; viewers will get to watch the final two episodes of season 4, as well as an IMAX-exclusive preview of season 5. The new season kicks off April 12.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 16. The first 300 ticket holders who attend the Thursday night opening show at participating theaters will receive a special Game of Thrones poster created by illustrator Robert Ball.
