The Dead Rising movie comes to life this March

Dead Rising: Watchtower, a live-action film based on the Dead Rising series, is set to debut on March 27 via Sony Pictures Television's streaming service Crackle.

The upcoming film will eventually release to other digital services and physical media following its Crackle launch. Interestingly, some video on demand distribution channels will show the movie episodically instead of as a standard feature film, GameInformer reports.

Dead Rising: Watchtower is being directed by Zack Lipovsky, best known for his work on Leprechaun: Origins. The film features the acting skills of Harley Morenstein, Keegan Connor Tracey, Aleks Paunovic, Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Virginia Madsen and Dennis Haysbert. Sleeping Dogs writer Tim Carter is behind the Watchtower script.
