You can play Nosgoth free next week

Nosgoth, developer Psyonix's competitive multiplayer game set in the Legacy of Kain universe, will launch in open beta next Wednesday, Jan. 21, publisher Square Enix announced this week.

Revealed in September 2013, the team-based, free-to-play game splits players between human and vampire factions. Nosgoth arrived on Steam Early Access last March. The open beta will be available for Windows PC through Steam, and Psyonix will be looking for feedback.

"Thanks to our highly dedicated and very passionate community, we've had an amazing journey so far," said game director Corey Davis. "Our goal for the Open Beta is to deliver a fun and engrossing metagame and we realize that working closely with our community is the best way for us to balance and deepen the experience going forward. We are thrilled to see what the future brings!"

Since its introduction, the developers have stressed that they're creating Nosgoth to be free-to-play but not pay-to-win. For more on the game, be sure to watch the Overview video below.
