A "choose-your-own-adventure (CYOA) game played via Twitter has taken off in the last few days, enjoying thousands of retweets as well as positive coverage in The Guardian.
The short game, which begins on Twitter page "A Dreadful Start" offers players binary options, linking to other Twitter accounts that continue the story. In the game the player is being chased, and must try to survive against terrible odds. It's a dark story, written with the right amount of tension and foreboding, within Twitter's 140-character limit.
Created by Terence Eden and based on the novel The Wanderer, the game involves a fair amount of making the wrong choices, tracking back and trying again. But that's where the fun lies.
The creature chasing you is... young! Its teeth look brittle. Fight: @wnd_punch Reason with it: @wnd_judy
