Destiny players need to drop everything: The game's best weapon is up for grabs

If you're playing Destiny, even casually, you need to drop whatever the heck else you're doing and grind for 17 Strange Coins. Xur has Ice Breaker this week, which is one of the best weapons in the game.

"For raids, you will always want to have either the Ice Breaker sniper rifle or the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher equipped. These two guns outstrip any legendary or exotic alternative by a huge margin, and they're indisputably the best and most useful guns in the game," our Destiny guide said of the weapon. "If you don't have both of them, you should make sure you have 17 coins set aside every week in case Xur stocks one of them."

If you followed that advice, you're good to go. If not, the Destiny subreddit has a list of ways to get the needed coins.

• Weekly Heroic (9 coins on lvl 30)
• Blue Engrams (ROC Strikes)
• 1 Strange coin for doing the Draksis mission for the first time per character
• 1 Strange coin for getting the gold Chests on Mars per character
• The daily gold public event package at the Postmaster
• Faction level-up packages

"Seriously," another player wrote. "Do whatever you can to get this." Keep in mind that Xur disappears from the Tower on Sunday at 4 a.m. ET. You don't have a lot of time in which to get this done.

Why do you care about this gun? It has a perk that regenerates ammo over time. You'll never, ever run out of ammo. Your targets burst into flames, dealing damage to other enemies nearby. This is one of the best weapons in the game, bar none, and will aid you in the quest to ... well, basically anything you want to do in Destiny.
