An Alien film as directed by the man behind District 9? This is what it would have looked like

It appears that Neil Blomkamp, director of District 9 and Elysium, was at one time jockeying for a chance to create an Alien movie. But not anymore.

"Was working on this," Blomkamp wrote on the first of eight concept images he dropped on his Instagram account on New Year's Day. "Don't think I am anymore. Love it though."

In the assorted images, we can see new takes on the xenomorphs of the series, an alien sprawl of some sort in what appears to be a hangar, a look at the Weyland Yutani Corporation, and art featuring both Sigourney Weaver as Ripley and Michael Biehn as a badly scarred Hicks.

Was working on this. Don't think I am anymore. Love it though. #alien #xenomorph
