From its very first moments, Visceral Games' Dead Space series distinguished itself with a unique take on user interfaces, and lead UI designer Dino Ignacio was there from their inception.

Ignacio's still doing UI research, some of which he corralled into a montage on his Vimeo account. Press play above to see Star Wars from a UI designer's perspective.

"This is a supercut of all the moments in A New Hope where characters interacted with machines, doors, screens, levers, knobs and buttons," Ignacio wrote in the video's description.

For more on Ignacio, be sure to read our coverage of a talk he gave at GDC, where he looked back at the Dead Space franchise's diegetic design philosophy.
