Battlefield 4 is running a promotion between today and the end of Saturday to gin up interest in the upcoming Battlefield Hardline beta. If the community racks up 2 billion points in Battlefield 4's Rush mode, then Hardline's Heist mode will be unlocked for the beta.
This task begins today at noon ET and will run until 2.59 a.m. ET on Sunday.
The dates for the next Battlefield Hardline beta have not been announced yet, though this news seems to indicate that may be coming soon. The game launches March 17. A six-hour preview will be offered to EA Access subscribers on Xbox One over the preceding four days.
Battlefield Hardline is a cops-and-robbers take on the military shooter franchise. In Heist mode, robbers are trying to loot a bank vault and escape to a helicopter, while the cops are trying to stop them. Both have heavy firepower and vehicles. Heist was part of the beta the game offered over the summer. For more, see Polygon's E3 2014 preview and another of the game's single player campaign from November.
