League of Legends World Championships will be held in Europe this year

The 2015 League of Legends World Championships will be held in Europe this October, Riot Games announced today.

A post on the official League of Legends website confirms Worlds 2015 will see its Group Stage, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final showdown held in different cities within Europe. Where and when, however, remain to be seen.

"It's still too early to share exact details -- we're currently confirming venues, timing, format, and more -- and we'll be sharing those details in the next few months," reads a post from Riot's own RedBeard.

This won't be the first time League's annual pro-gaming event has taken place on European soil. Riot's inaugural World Championship in 2011 took place in Jonkoping, Sweden during the Dreamhack conference.

Last year, Finals took place in Seoul, Korea, while both season two and season three world championship events were held in the United States.
