Universal Windows apps will be available on Xbox One with Windows 10, Microsoft announced today during its Windows 10 event.
"With Windows 10, universal Windows apps come to Xbox One," said Terry Myerson (above), head of Microsoft's Windows division. Phil Spencer, the Head of Xbox, noted that he doesn't expect a lot of Xbox One users to start running Excel on their consoles, but said that universal apps open up a lot of possibilities for developers of both games and apps.
Microsoft announced plans for universal apps across computers, tablets, phones and Xbox One during the company's Build conference last April. The program allows developers to build a single app that can run on a wide variety of devices.
