Actor Channing Tatum, who is set to star in the upcoming Fox film Gambit, has revealed the release date for the film's cinema release in a recent tweet.
According to Tatum, the new X-Men flick will release on Oct. 7, 2016. Taking to Twitter, the actor leaked the information writing: "How do you say Octber 7, 2016 in Cajun?" Fox Films has since confirmed this was in reference to the Gambit film.
Gambit is Marvel Comics' card-throwing, kinetic energy-controlling son of Louisiana. It was only in 2014 that Tatum was revealed as the lead to a solo film based on the character, which Fox had initially dated for 2018. A script has been written by writer Josh Zetumer based on a treatment by X-Men writer Chris Claremont.
