Humble Monthly subscription service launches next month

Humble Bundle is once more expanding, this time rolling out a new $12-a-month subscription service that delivers a surprise Steam for Windows game to members once a month.

The Humble Monthly kick-off game is still a mystery, but you'll get an extra bonus if you sign up before Nov. 6: a free copy of Legend of Grimrock 2, which typically sells for $24.

Humble Bundle says the games included in the service will be a "variety of specially curated games automatically delivered to them digitally each and every month whose identity will remain hidden until the time of delivery.

"Subscribers can expect each month's featured titles to not only be on par with the type of premium content that Humble Bundle is known for, but with even more added value."

You'll have to sign up before Nov. 6 to get the first game. Each month a new game will be designated as the Instant Unlock title that subscribers can begin playing immediately at the start of each cycle.

Membership is paid monthly, with no annual option yet, and can be canceled at any time. Canceling your subscription does not impact the games you've already received. Five percent of all proceeds will be earmarked to charitable causes around the world, according to Humble.

Correction: This story initially stated that Grimrock 2 was the first game, when in fact this is a bonus for signing up for the service early.
