After dominating at the box office this past spring, Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller has some news regarding the upcoming sequels and Charlize Theron's role in them.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Miller confirmed that although he wasn't sure whether Theron would return to portray the badass hero Imperator Furiosa, he had no plans for her to star in either of the upcoming films.
"She's not in the Mad Max [sequel story]," Miller said, "but in one of the stories, there's an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]."
Miller added that he couldn't provide any additional details about what that meant for their relationship as it was still in progress.
Fury Road is the fourth installment in the Max Max franchise and starred Tom Hardy in the titular role.
Miller confirmed last year there were two sequels currently in development at Warner Bros., but in an interview with Top Gear last week, admitted he wanted to take on a smaller independent project before returning to the Mad Max franchise.
Mad Max: Fury Road is currently available to purchase on DVD and Blu-Ray.
