Telltale Games' Minecraft: Story Mode makes good on a strange concept: telling a story in the universe of Minecraft. Influenced by kid-friendly '80s romps like Ghostbusters, this episodic adventure game stars a group of friends who get wrapped up in a quest to save the world.
The out-of-left-field collaboration between Telltale and Mojang actually works. We'll have a full review soon, but for now, you can watch us play through the first 45 minutes of Minecraft: Story Mode. There are definitely some spoilers in the video, but it contains less than half of the first episode, "The Order of the Stone." In our game, we chose to play as a female Jesse, who is voiced by Catherine Taber. You can also pick male Jesse, who is brought to life by Patton Oswalt.
Minecraft: Story Mode launches today on Mac, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One; Oct. 15 on Android and iOS; and later this year on PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Wii U.
