Battlefield Hardline goes free in the EA Access Vault

Battlefield Hardline, Visceral Games' cops-and-robbers spinoff of EA DICE's Battlefield franchise, is now available free to EA Access subscribers, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

EA originally released Battlefield Hardline in mid-March, so the shooter is arriving in the EA Access Vault just under seven months after its launch. Battlefield Hardline offers an episodic single-player campaign featuring virtual versions of real TV actors, as well as a multiplayer component focused on the game's police/criminals dynamic.

Battlefield Hardline joins more than a dozen other full games in EA Access' Vault, including recent hits like Dragon Age: Inquisition and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. The subscription service also offers pre-release trials of certain games, including upcoming titles such as Need for Speed on Oct. 29 and Star Wars Battlefront on Nov. 12. In addition, subscribers receive a 10 percent discount on all digital purchases of EA games and add-on content in the Xbox Games Store.

EA Access, which is available exclusively on Xbox One, costs $4.99 per month or $29.99 a year. For more on Battlefield Hardlineread our review and watch the story's first 40 minutes below.
