See the multiplayer side of Dark Souls 3 in 10 new screenshots

From Software hasn't said too much about the cooperative and competitive multiplayer aspects coming in Dark Souls 3, but in a fresh batch of screenshots released today, we get a peek at how phantoms will help (or slay) players.

It's all pretty familiar-looking stuff; there are red invader phantoms, white friendly phantoms, bloodstains that show how other players died and messages scrawled on the ground intended to either help or trick other Dark Souls 3 players. One shows a player consuming an "Ember," which is tied to multiplayer. Here's Bandai Namco's official description:

Players can summon when they use an item called Ember. Using an ember grants players opportunity to temporarily restore the power of the Lord of Cinder to the player character. When the player dies they will lose the power of fire until another ember is consumed.

Take a tour through the gallery above to see some nice-looking shots of Dark Souls 3 in action. From Software's game hits PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One early next year.
