It's been a busy weekend for Star Wars fans, and while all of the excitement will culminate tonight with the final theatrical trailer for The Force Awakens, Disney is trying to keep the conversation going as long as they can with the introduction of new Twitter emojis.
The official Star Wars twitter account unveiled the new emojis on Sunday, encouraging fans to have their own "Twitter space battle," with the variety of adorable emojis they've released in anticipation for the movie.
According to the photo that accompanied the tweet, users can choose from three options: #tiefighter, #milleniumfalcon and #xwing. The original tweet, however, also has a photo of everyone's favorite new droid, BB-8.

When put to the test, tweeting out BB-8 with a hashtag in front of it did indeed produce the emoji, but also proved that the hashtag would only work on the original Twitter client. When tweeted on a third-party app like Tweetdeck, the emoji did not appear at all.
This isn't the first time Twitter has played around with specific emojis for events. During the 2014 World Cup, Twitter allowed users to tweet out emojis of different countries' flags in an effort to get more people to use the social network while watching the games.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh installment in the franchise and stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill alongside an entirely fresh cast of franchise faces, including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac.
The final trailer for the film will be released tonight and pre-order tickets will be made available at approximately 8:30 ET, according to various reports.
The Force Awakens is scheduled to be released on Dec. 18. Watch an earlier trailer for the film below:
