Jeremy Irons (The Lion King, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Brendan Gleeson (Edge of Tomorrow, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) will join Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in 20th Century Fox's Assassin's Creedreports Deadline.

With Fassbender as Callum Lynch — a man who discovers that his master assassin skills derive from his ancestor Aguilar, another master assassin active in a secret society centuries ago — and Cotillard as the female lead, Gleeson and Irons will play their respective fathers. The portions of the film set in the past will take place in 15th century Spain.

Director Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders, Macbeth) will head up the production, which will begin filming within the week.
