Twitch's long-awaited dedicated viewing app for PlayStation 4 is now available to download via the PlayStation Store in North America.

The free app, which weighs in at just 54 MB, was announced at TwitchCon in September. Twitch confirmed at its first dedicated convention that the Twitch viewing app will also come to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, though those versions are not currently listed in the PlayStation Store. Twitch said those other PlayStation apps would arrive sometime this fall.

Sony's PlayStation 4 launched with the ability to broadcast gameplay via Twitch (and Ustream), but in order to watch Twitch streams, owners of the console were required to use the system's built-in web browser. The system's chief console competitor, Xbox One, got its dedicated Twitch app back in March 2014.
