Websites leak plans for eSports 'PlayStation Plus League' with real-money prizes

It appears Sony is preparing an eSports platform — offering real money payouts — and may announce it at Paris Games Week beginning today.

Update: Though this is the first we've heard of it, it appears this was announced about a week ago on PlayStation's French-language blog.

A French website for "PlayStation Plus League" has been discovered, and the Project CARS site also mentions the platform with prize pools (in Euros) to be shared by top performers.

The French site mentions Ultra Street Fighter 4, Battlefield Hardline, FIFA 16, Rocket League and Trials Fusion, saying qualifying rounds will begin tomorrow and run through Sunday. There's no word if this is a Europe-only debut or if it will be available in other regions. Paris Games Week also is mentioned.

We've reached out to a PlayStation rep to ask if these plans are concurrent with North America, but it's more likely everyone finds out at or after Sony's keynote from Paris, which gets going at 1 p.m. ET.
