Boundless heading to PS4, watch the trailer here

Boundless, an open-world game set in a sandbox universe, will launch for PlayStation 4, Sony announced today during a Paris Games Week livestream.

Wonderstruck is developing the game as a cross-platform title for PC as well, "where everyone (yes, everyone!) plays together in a single online universe," according to a post on the PlayStation Blog Europe. Coupled with the announcement is a brief look at the game, in which someone — or something — explores a series of worlds from a first-person view. The game's colorful world relies on portals for travel, which appear as tall, shimmering pillars that act as gateways.

Players can hunt, work for money, claim their own territory, or share resources with friends and create guilds. As players explore each world, they can search out Titans — ancient, sentient fortresses that "menacingly stalk the landscape searching for anything they perceive as a threat," the post reads. "These apex predators are filled with traps and swarming with deadly Protectors.

"Attempted alone, your only hope is to explore, survive and escape with a handful of valuable resources. If you're feeling brave, call together all the citizens of your adopted world and attempt the impossible — defeat the Titan."
