Harley Quinn may be the Joker's number one fan, but that doesn't mean she won't have her eye on other characters in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.
Talking to Empire Magazine about the film, director David Ayer and star Will Smith confirmed that the doctor-turned-lovesick sidekick to Gotham's most famous psychopath (played by Jared Leto), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) will find herself caught in a love triangle between the Arkham Asylum patient and Smith's Deadshot.
"Harley's the biggest troublemaker, but Deadshot's kinda eyeing her a bit," Smith told the magazine. "There's a pretty ragged romantic angle there."
Ayer admitted that while Harley's relationships will be front and center in the movie, the film actually focuses on her liberation as a character and finding her independence outside of the Joker's influence.
"That really is a metaphor for everyone's journey here," Ayer said.
Suicide Squad is currently in post-production. It's scheduled to be released on Aug. 5, 2016.
