Director James Gunn is poised to start production on the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel early in the new year, and it looks like a key role has just been filled.
Although the role — which has been described by sources to various outlets as very important — is still shrouded in mystery, relative newcomer Pom Klementieff has been confirmed for the sequel, according to The Wrap.
This is one of the first English-speaking parts for Klementieff, who some may recognize from Spike Lee's Oldboy remake.
The sequel will see Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper reprise their superhero roles from the first installment.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
