Pokémon’s latest legendary finally coming to North America

Aspiring Pokémon masters can look forward to finally completing their Pokédexes. Hoopa, the newest legendary Pokémon, will be distributed at McDonald's across North America starting next month, according to Pokémon fansite Serebii.

The Hoopa event begins Nov. 27 and runs until Dec. 23. To receive the level 50 "Mythical Pokémon" legendary, players and patrons of the fast-food chain must be sure to bring their Nintendo 3DS systems and copies of Pokémon X/Pokémon Y or Pokémon Omega Ruby/Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Fans in Japan and various European countries have already been able to claim the Pokémon, thanks to distribution events running in those countries over the last two months.

A trailer featuring Hoopa's in-game appearance and moveset premiered back in January, which you can watch above.

The Pokémon Company updated its Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire page with this and further details, such as notes on how to receive the special item that unlocks Hoopa's "true Unbound" form.

Previously revealed and awaiting an in-game introduction are new forms of fellow legendary Pokémon Zygarde. In September, the Pokémon Company revealed that Zygarde's new look will debut in the latest Pokémon anime, called Pokémon XY & Z. That series premiered in Japan today, Oct. 29.

While the title of the new TV show hints at a third "Z" version joining the sixth generation of mainline Pokémon titles, Nintendo has yet to confirm that a Pokémon Z is in the works.
