Zero Escape 3, the third game in the Zero Escape visual novel franchise, has an official title. Aksys Games announced that the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita game will be called Zero Time Dilemma in North America.

Zero Time Dilemma, much like previous entries Virtue's Last Reward for 3DS and Vita and 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors on Nintendo DS, focuses heavily on the concept of choice. "Choice is your only method of salvation and your only means of escape" in the game, the publisher shared on its website. "How much of your humanity will you sacrifice to earn your freedom?"

The game was first announced this summer at Anime Expo 2015, series director and writer Kotaro Uchikoshi premiered a teaser trailer and little else. Development on the project began in February 2014 but was temporarily halted due to low series sales.

The game remains set for a summer 2016 release.
